"If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink..Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water...(John 7:37-38)...Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price." (Isaiah 55:1) What powerful words of hope of the promises that God has made in His word, if you only believe! I am sure you would agree with me that there is hardly a turn of the switch on the television, radio, and the pages of magazines that you not hear 'doom and gloom' being spoken of. The jobless rates are staggering! Companies continue to lay off people who seemingly have no where to turn and no one to turn to. The rent is due. The bills are stacked up high and the light, water and gas services are at the verge of being disconnected because of these long overdue bills. Health care systems are broken with no sign of how it is going to be fixed. Economists spend sleepless hours crunching the numbers, hoping that at their next broadcast they can have the solution to these many problems the world face today. The list goes on and on.
But today I stopped by to bring you a different kind of news. That's right! A different kind of news for it is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ that there is no economic downturn and recession in the Kingdom of God! You ought to be shouting right there. Jesus promises a thirst quenching water that once you drink of it you will never ever again thirst. It is a thirst quenching water which is a perfect picture of spiritual satisfaction that only Jesus can provide. You have no money? Well that is not necessary to get you anywhere in God's Kingdom. How so? Well God deals with a different kind of currency called FAITH. So He says, 'Come! Come without money, come and buy. Believe (put faith to work for you) come buy and eat to your satisfaction. You need again tomorrow, and next week, and still do not have money, He still says, Come!'
"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." ~Revelation 22:17 It is confirmed by an open invitation to all to come and partake of the streams of water of life; these are tendered to all who feel in their souls a thirst which nothing in this world can quench. It is confirmed by the joint testimony of the Spirit of God and the gracious Spirit that is in all the true believers and members of God's church. It is sanctioned by God, that no matter what anyone may tell you, it is predestined in His will and plan even before the foundation of the world for you to come and be a part of this Holy Ghost lifelong party where you can drink of the new wine of His presence in your life and where you can eat the bread of His word and be filled to overflowing. The world's doom and gloom had you sitting in darkness but it is time for you to begin to experience the light of His grace and the blanket of His mercy over you to cover from the wintery cold nights of despair and hopelessness. Your valley may be dark but Jesus is that LIGHT. He is the light of the world! Doors may have been shut on you, you have lost your insurance but Jesus is the door that gives you access to your blessed assurance and your eternal inheritance that you can begin to enjoy while still here on earth.
So the questions that I ask you today, "Are you thirsty? Are you hungry? Is your bank account in a deficit? Have you exceed the limit of your overdraft amount? Are you tired and weary of life in the fast lane? Do you find yourself in the valley of despair? Are you thinking that life is not worth living anymore? Are you thinking that you have become a failure in life and can no longer be seen as a role model for your children, family and for others?" THEN, JESUS SAYS, COME!!! Give Him access into your life today and see the difference this man called Jesus can make for you. Let Him in. The well of man's making will go dry at some point but Jesus' well is sustained from a fountain that flows from the throne of His Father and it will never go dry.
