"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you." ~ John 15:13-14......"He himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation (Ephesians 2:14)
There are great truths that stands out in these two short passages of scripture and they are LOVE and PEACE. I speak first on the matter of love for no man can say that they truly love God whom they have not seen and that they are keeping His commandments, while at the same time they hate the brother or the sister that they see each day. Because God's word is truth! Then secondly, it was Christ's love for us that would ultimately purchase our redemption and make peace between God our Heavenly Father and us mankind. Sin separated us from Him and God's anger was turned toward us for a moment. But thank God for the work of grace done on at Golgotha Hill upon Calvary's cross for us over two thousand years ago. The middle partition separated us but through Christ, the veil was rent (torn) in two from the top to the bottom and now we claim the blessings and the inheritance! We are heirs with God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ! We are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus far above principalities and powers. And now we have a new way, a much better way and the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. How? Because greater love hath no man than this that he would lay down his life for his friends!
